Second International Philological Forum – Official events
On 17-20 November 2016 Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“ will host the Second International Philological Forum for BA, MA and PhD students which is organised by the Faculty of Slavic Studies and the Student Council. The event is held every two years after the First forum gathered more than 230 participants from 18 countries.
Participants
In the Second Philological Forum will take part over 220 young scholars, admitted after preliminary selection. The participants in the Forum are from 20 countries: Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovenia, Greece, Kosovo, Albania, Turkey, Italy, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, India, China, Indonesia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia.
Lectures
During the Forum will be held inaugural lectures by prof. Ljudmil Dimitrov („What Does it Mean to be a Foregin Bulgarian Scholar: Challenges ahead the Choice“), prof. Iskra Hristova-Shomova („St. Kliment Ohridski and the Sources from Ohrid“) and prof. Petya Osenova („Grammar of the Dictionary“).

On the 17th November Bulgarian journalists will be awarded and the book of the Slovenian modernist Ivan Tsankar „Erotic“ will be presented (with the participation of dr. Elena Daradanova, the publisher Kiril Kadiyski and the translator prof. Ljudmil Dimitrov).
At the second day of the forum besides the work in the specialised sections will be held round tables on the topics „The Bulgarians beyond Bulgaria“ and „Young Critics for New Bulgarian Authors“ and in the evening the BA, the MA and the PhD students students will be invited to meet and have a talk with the writer Teodora Dimova.
On the 19th November will be organised a workshop „Translation and Interpretation“.
On the last day the participants in the Forum will visit the Rila Monastery where dr. Veneta Savova will hold a lecture on the centuries-long praise of St. John of Rila.
