The Forum

The International Philological Forum has been organized by the Faculty of Slavic Philology, University of Sofia St. Kliment Ohridski. Organising the Forum requires the collection of participants’ personal data.

What information do we collect?

Name, surname, and e-mail address;
Education and scholarly qualifications data;
Names and e-mail address of the scientific advisor or the expert in a specific field sending a letter of recommendation.

Data shall be stored in the International Philological Forum database, and in other information systems (including the Forum’s electronic mailbox).

You are responsible for notifying your scientific advisor or the expert sending a letter of recommendation for you that you will be sharing their e-mail address with us.

Why do we process your personal data?

We process your personal data with a view to:
letting you know if your application has been successful or not;
drawing up the programme for the Third International Philological Forum in order to ensure that papers are divided into groups on the basis of their topics and the level education obtained by their presenters;
letting you know if your paper is going to be published in the Philological Forum Journal or the International Philological Forum Edited Series;
letting you know when we have started preparations for the Fourth Philological Forum.

We require the e-mail address of your academic advisor so that we may contact them in the event of any lack of clarity or if we hesitate as the whether to allow you to participate.

In the event of your application not being approved, the team of the International Philological Forum may retain your e-mail address, and contact you when it has started preparations for the Fourth International Philological Forum.

Who is going to have access to your data?

The team of organisers of the Third International Philological Forum are going to have access to your data. Your data are not going to be shared with third parties.

How are your data going to be protected?

We treat your data responsibly. We do not allow third parties to access our data base, so the information provided by you cannot be lost or destroyed, and is going to be used as it is meant to be.

What is the retention period for your data?

The retention period for your data is 24 months: until the Fourth International Philological Forum has begun.

Your Rights

As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
access and receive a copy of your data upon request;
request that incorrect or incomplete data be amended;
request the deletion of the cessation of processing of your data.

Conference Details

The International Philological Forum is held every two years in November in the Rectorate of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski “.
