Senior Asst. Prof. Teodora Tzankova, PhD in Western European literature, is part of the Department of Spanish Studies in the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philologies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She is the author of the monograph The Portrait in Modernist Literature (Oscar Wilde, James Joyce and José Martínez Ruiz – Azorín) and of various academic articles. She translates fiction and non-fiction in the humanities from Spanish (J. Marías, E. Vila-Matas, J. L. Borges et al.). She is on the board of the Bulgarian Academic Circle of Comparative Literature and is board secretary of the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations. Her research is focused on Comparative Literature and Literary Translation.
