Simeon Stefanov is a doctor of philology, chief assistant at the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Graduated in Slavic Philology at Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“. He defended his diploma work and doctoral dissertation in the Department for Slavic Linguistics at the Faculty of Slavic Studies. His main research interests are in the field of history of South Slavic (literary) languages and dialects, medieval studies, etymology.
