Organisation and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

At its meeting on 2 July 2020, the Editorial Board of the Philological Forum journal decided to create the position of editor-in-chief responsible for the journal, with said position being held for a period of two calendar years. The editor-in-chief is appointed by the Editorial Board. This decision was endorsed by the Board of the Faculty of Slavic Studies on 7 July 2020.

The editor-in-chief is responsible for the journal’s public image.

Each issue has its own head editor, who is responsible for defining said issue’s topic, curating the sections containing scholarly articles and the articles proposed for publication, as well as their reviewers. The head editor of an issue is responsible for properly conducting the peer review procedure.

The editors responsible for the sections Epistolary Takes, Travelling Words, Where Do Bulgarian Studies Lie?, What we Read, It So Happened That… and A Wink and a Yawn are curate their respective sections of an issue.

The Editorial Board, acting as a collective structure, takes final decisions on all matters pertaining to editorial and outstanding issues.

The Expert Board is a pool of experts whom the Editorial Board may consult on problematic matters, be these of academic or ethical nature. All final decisions are adopted by the Editorial Board, whose composition is approved by the Board of the Faculty of Slavic Studies, St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia.
