for participation in the Second International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD Students

Dear colleagues,

The Faculty of Slavic Studies is pleased to invite you to the Second International Philological Forum for BA, MA, and PhD students which will be held from 17 to 20 November 2016 in the central building of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Main areas

The areas in which we expect your abstracts are:
Literary Studies;
Folklore and Cultural Anthropology;
Medieval Culture and Literature;
Methodology of Teaching Bulgarian Language and Literature;
Methodology in Foreign Language Teaching.

Within the Forum

A series of lectures of eminent Bulgarian scientists are provided within the Forum. The program includes round tables on the following topics: “Life with Others” “Bulgarians outside Bulgaria”, workshops “Translations and Interpretations”, “Young Critics about New Bulgarian Authors”, as well as an evening dedicated to St. Clement of Ohrid. Meetings with famous Bulgarian writers and journalists will be arranged.

The last day, the 20th of November, 2016, is scheduled for a visit to the Rila Monastery.


Abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific committee.
Working languages for the Forum are all Slavic languages and English.
Paper presentation is limited to 15 minutes.
There is no participation fee.
For the participants a cocktail (for the first evening), lunch and coffee breaks (for the three working days) will be provided.
Expenses for foreign participants who prefer to be accommodated in a student dormitory will be € 8 per night.

Papers presented during the Forum will be collected until 15 January 2015. After a scientific selection and editing, they will be published in the journal “Philological Forum” as well as on the site of the International Philological Forum.
